Hereford Pegasus ended their preseason friendlies with a laboured 3-0 win against local side Hinton on Saturday afternoon.
The Herefordshire County League side gave a spirited performance and defended in numbers at time but young full back Owen Giles opened the scoring with a well hit shot from 30 yards on 16 minutes. Despite heavy pressure and a number of chances created, the Redmen were unable to increase their lead before half time.
The second half saw some improvement but it wasn’t until the 76th minute that Peggy doubled their lead when some good work from Levi Ellis in the right fired a ball into the box which was turned in by Mike Burgess. A penalty from sub Marc Avery completed the scoring on 83 minutes.
The focus now turns to the start of the league season next Saturday where the campaign opens with a short trip to Newent Town.
